OUR CAMPS and YOUR EVENT

A positive and safe outdoor experience will always be cornerstones for youth involvement within Scouts. Our premiere properties and facilities are designed with execution and delivery of these goals to the youth. The Old North State Council operates four camping facilities, utilized by registered units throughout the year and also available to rent.  Browse the descriptions of each property.


Cherokee Scout Reservation

Woodfield

Located southwest of Yanceyville, NC, Cherokee Scout Reservation offers an exciting camping experience. During the summer months, Cherokee is the home of our Boy Scout Summer Camp, it is available for weekend camping year-round. There are 14 different campsites to choose from. Each campsite has access to running water and latrines. Hot showers are available in the shower house. Programs available at Cherokee include COPE course and climbing tower, swimming, boating, shooting sports and archery.


Woodfield Scout Camp

427 Rush Mountain Rd, Trinity, NC 27370

Woodfield

This site, formerly known as Woodfield West, offers weekend camping for Scouts BSA on eight established campsites with fire rings. These sites also provide access to latrines, showers, and a program shelter. Low impact camping is also available on Mary’s Mountain, however, fires are prohibited in this area.


Hemric Scout Reservation

Kerr Lake Reservoir near the North Carolina-Virginia border

Hemric Scout

This excellent facility provides a unique camping experience for Scouts BSA and Venturers. Located on Kerr Lake Reservoir near the North Carolina-Virginia border, this camp can only be reached by boat. The camp provides docks, latrines, running water, a dining hall and lodge building. 

Only one Unit at a time can camp on the island.


Hagan Sea Base

Hagan See Base

Provide a unique camping experience for Scouts and Explorers. Located on High Rock Lake this camp is excellent for boating, especially sailing. There is a Headquarters Building with a small meeting room and kitchen.  There are also shower facilities on site.
